Saint Sofia Tribune Is. 6

June 9, 2043
Bucharest - After suffering through a brutal 9 game losing streak, CSKA Army fans finally had something to celebrate with an 8-4 victory over the Impalers. SP Eric Rush won his 2nd game since 4/26, going 5 innings and allowing 3 runs. Offensively, a team effort spearheaded by 3B Michael Best (3-5, 2 2B) and DH Rhys Ahroni (2-4, 2 2B) used 14 hist and 3 walks to plate 8 runs. All 9 starters either got at least 1 hit or 1 run.

After the game, Best confirmed how tough the losing streak was saying "The losing streak was really tough."

He also opined that the team will be looking to keep things going and start a winning streak, saying "Now we just need to keep things going and start a winning streak"

While that may seem unlikely with upcoming series against Manama and Kuwait City, it is certain the team is glad to be back in the win column. Not only was the streak the longest in (young) team history, but most games were not even close to being competitive. During the streak the team lost by 7+ runs 5 times, and 10+ runs twice. The team led a total of 5.5 innings in the 9 contests, looking very much like an expansion team. Given the pitching on this team, most observers expect this to be the norm rather than the exception moving forward.

Glad to see Best’s dominance of the UMEBA
