The Week That Was #1

Post by Clayman » Fri Oct 20, 2023 9:20 pm

The season couldn't end sooner for the Athens Fighting Centaurs, loss of form by many who took the Centaurs to a 99 win season just a year ago have taken a team to a sub .500 season barring a miracle that is. One thing that as cost them is injuries, last season the injury Gods smiled upon the Athens Ball Club this season they took their wrath out on the Centaurs.

Richie Vanness just a matter of minutes after signing a contract extension was diagnosed with a shoulder inflamation to his throwing arm and was lost for the season. Max Shepperson pulled up last week with tendinitis in his right knee and will be lost for a week, with nothing to play for but pride it's likely that they'll sit him for the remaining games.

Two players who may never suit up for the Centaurs again are free agents to be Wally Geoghegan and Naganori Kohara, it's certain that Kohara as played his last game for Athens, Geoghegan on the other hand maybe offered an extension but that's 50/50 at bestaccording to my sources.

One things certain with the ammount of injuries Paco Pérez the Fighting Centaurs team trainer along with Kohara could be looking for a new ball club.

I accept injuries the game would be boring without them but 3 in a game week, long term injuries seem to be more frequent as well.
