Hellas Hotstove 2051.

Post by Clayman » Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:06 pm

Enough is Enough.

A disruptive force within the locker room during the season Bryan Blanch finally pushed his luck too far, GM Thomas didn't even put Branch on waivers instead releasing him.

"Branch demanded to see me, he didn't ask but demanded however I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I heard rumours he was pretty much fighting with everyone be they players or staff but everyone starts with a clean slate in my book."

GM Neil Thomas.

By all accounts the meeting lasted 10 minutes, 30 seconds for Branch to sit down 90 seconds for the actual meeting and 8 minutes before Branch finished his tirade and left the GMs office.

"Less than a minute into the meeting I realised this wasn't going to work, and a little over a minute for me to decide to release him and not even bother to put him on waivers".

GM Neil Thomas.

Macias Moving On.

Post by Clayman » Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:11 pm

A little over a day after the Branch release rumours are abound that Manny Macias will not be offered a contract extension, the Panamanian did have a good spell in the bullpen racking up 3 wins in a row but as since fell apart and is thought not to be worth his demands.

It as been rumoured that Athens will be looking to audition a few arms from there minor league teams once rosters extend to 40, call it an early start to Spring Training.

Bye, Bye Bosendorfer.

Post by Clayman » Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:13 pm

Adalgiso Bosendorfer will join Bryan Branch and Manny Macias in not being in the Athens organisation next season, rumours are that Athens were interested in an extension but Bosendorfer wasn't interested in the money they were thinking of so will be filing for FA when the season ends.

Yet another player to leave Athens and not the last according to the rumour mill of the Fighting Centaurs, with the purge already started and to kick into full swing once the season ends.

Players like starters Tommy Boele, Hae-nim Chong and Satyajit Neel joined the right for a spot in the rotation Uthman Amir, Kun Chin, Teinosuke Komatsu and Doug Cooper along with Bradley Broomhall all joined the bullpen in a fight also for a spot in 52.

Not really my best but thought I'd best do something this season, the hotstove was meant to be a season long thing and will be for the 52 season. I have a couple more ideas which were meant for this season but just couldn't kick start my mojo this season.

Line Up Set For 52?

Post by Clayman » Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:28 pm

It looks like the pitching will have a different look next season but the line up will probably have much the same look as this season, only 2B Aaron Comyn was promoted from the minors. It's also thought Comyn could be a replacement for William Drew and/or Bob Allen both shortstops and both out of contract come the end of the season, with Danny Glatz signing a contract extension we could be looking at Comyn and Glatz as the middle infield partnership for next season. The

Athens are looking to finish there business for 52 before the 51 season actually finishes, with the Pitching going through auditions, contract extensions both in the personnel and playing departments and rumour as it the minors could be next to have an organisational audit.
