Re: Press Conference 4/7/2042
Sai Ahuji, host of Popes Playing Pepper, can you elaborate on the whirlwind of your first couple weeks of games in the UMEBA?

Re: Press Conference 4/7/2042
(apologies for the late reply)
To be honest the first week was a daydream, we went into Beirut and won the first two games pretty easy to be honest. Actually we could have swept them as they just scraped past is 4-3 in the last game of the series, we also nearly swept Bucharest but for the first game, that was a big disappointment losing the Opening Day game. The second week was a whirlwind we got on a roll winning back to back games against Beirut then making it three on the row against Cairo, however baseball as away of bringing you back to earth, it did it by back to back defeats to Cairo. Anyway I think everyone would rather listen to Maxim than me.
Firstly I'd just like to clear up what the media as been reporting, there is no problem between me and GM Thomas or any personnel from the Centaurs. I was taken out of the Beirut game for the long haul but the adrenaline was flowing and yes I did get angry with GM Thomas, we sat down later and he stated I'd have stayed in if I'd been pitching a no hitter, I understood him when he told me this. However it was still in my mind the next couple of starts and I let everyone down, most of all the fans and I apologise for that.
As for the question, it's been great well apart from my last couple of outings. The people of Athens have treated us like God's, if we win they applaud us in the streets, if we lose they pat us on the back. I've played in Vegas, Wichita, Boise and Madison 185 games total in the BBA. I've pitched four for Athens only two of them in Athens but I feel more at home here than anywhere.
GM Thomas will answer your question first.shoeless.db wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 9:05 pmSai Ahuji, host of Popes Playing Pepper, can you elaborate on the whirlwind of your first couple weeks of games in the UMEBA?

Can you please shed some light on the recent allegations of Papadakis being a Greek Mafia head?

Re: Press Conference 4/7/2042
First let me say that the reason two of our security guards are stood next to Mr Makin isn't to stop someone like you hurting him, it's actually the opposite. You see Mr Makin was born in The Taiga in Russia, it may say Krasnoborsk on his birth certificate but trust me he's a Taiga man. As though that doesn't make him tough enough he can also throw a baseball at over 90 mph on a bad day, today is not a bad day.
Also both Mr Papadakis and Mr Makin have a passion for chess, you often see them having a game. In fact whilst they play Mr Papadakis teaches Mr Makin Greek, Mr Makin returns the favour by teaching Mr Papadakis Russian so they've become firm friends. So you insinuating Mr Makin's friend is a crook well doesn't sit right with him, however I'll answer your question.
Would a crime boss give away $50m a year, also resign from being the Greek Prime Minister when at the end of the day a crook wants money and power, Mr Papadakis as given both away, so if he is a crook he's a bad one.
Personally I think you asked your question trying to get the Centaurs players angry, try to make them lose focus on the upcoming series against your dirt diggers or whatever you decide Alhafr means. However we like to do our talking on the field, I'm sure you'll get a warm welcome from our reporters when you get to the press box come Kuwait City's visit to our city in just over a week.

Re: Press Conference 4/7/2042
Whoa whoa whoa. Why so hostile? I'm just a measly reporter. I;m just asking questions about rumors thrown out in KC. As bizarre as they seem, it is my duty to ask the tough questions.Clayman wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 5:21 pmFirst let me say that the reason two of our security guards are stood next to Mr Makin isn't to stop someone like you hurting him, it's actually the opposite.
