Mr. Barajas - thanks for taking my questions:

Are you at all bitter that Baghdad didn’t tender an offer in arbitration? Will that be extra motivation for you this season?

With a season in the UMEBA under your belt, how do you compare the level of play to the BBA?

What excites you about playing for Athens?

And, finally, what’s your favorite food offered by the ballpark concessions here?

Thank you!

Not bitter more surprised than anything, they knew I was enjoying the UMEBA so if I didn't sign for them they knew I'd sign for another UMEBA team, to be honest my motivation is the Athens fans did you know 15,000 greeted me at the airport, crazy.

There's definitely alot of guys in the UMEBA who could hold their own in the BBA and I know a few guys chose to play here rather than the BBA and it wasn't all about the money, I think it's down to depth that's the big factor, don't get me wrong a BBA All Star team would beat a UMEBA All Star team 9 times out of 10. Ask me in say ten years time and it could be a 5/5 split, the UMEBA is catching up don't you worry.

Going back to your previous question, the fans. Also throw in the weather, not to hot or cold, perfect baseball weather if you ask me. Last two years in the BBA with Vegas was way too hot, Baghdad wasn't much better, dry and dusty. So yeah fans and weather.

On the way from the airport a car in front of us broke down, luck would have it right next to a street food stall. So Alexis my driver asked if I was hungry so he got me some saganaki (fried cheese) and some spicy stuffed peppers, man that was good eating. He did say it was part of the ballpark menu, going to have to watch out or I'll be big as a whale.

As I said way back in 37 it was a dream of mine to open a restaurant, as you know I did just that in Vegas. Baraja's Restaurant & Grill is still serving the best of ballpark food, hopefully I'll not only add some Greek ballpark food but also some memorabilia from the Athens team. Who knows playing in Athens may give me the opportunity to open a Barajas in Athens.

Thank you for your question.
