Cairo Pharaohs

After beating the Pharaohs 2 games to 1 in the first series of the season, roles were reversed in the second series. Game #1 was totally one sided as Athens were shut out 0-6, although not a shut out The Fighting Centaurs gained revenge with a
9-4 (10) win in game #2. Game #3 saw the Cairo team take the spoils of the game and series with a 2-4 scoreline in favour of the home team.

Tripoli Piranhas

#1 @ Tripoli Piranhas 3-1
12:05 PM ET Sunday April 11th 2049
Piranhas Park 27,848
Sosa Seki

Top of the 2nd here at Piranhas Park close to 29,000 on hand in game 1 of a 3 game series, Sosa Seki at the plate for Athens facing Mahad 'Furball' Einan of the Piranhas. The first pitch a curveball just missing the outside edge of the zone, the second a fastball missed nothing as it travelled close to 400 feet after connecting with Seki's bat and giving the Centaurs a 1-0 lead.

Seki a tall young 3B from Nagoya, Japan. Drafted by Athens in the 2045 draft with the 3rd pick in Round 10 the 75th overall.

Top of the 4th and Seki got on base with a 2-0 count single, top of the 6th and Luis Domínguez was on 1st but was out on a fielders choice when Quinn Greene hit one in play. Up came Sosa, facing a 1-2 count he hit his second dinger of the game not as far as the first but as far as the scoreboard goes be it an inch or a mile over the fence it's still an home run.

Sosa rose quickly through the minors, 51 games with Shenyang in 45, 59 with Georgetown in 46 followed by a spell with Mogadishu also in 46 before making his debut in the majors in 47.

The game ended 3-1 to The Fighting Centaurs, thanks to Athens pitcher Keijo 'Coach' Reini keeping the score down and Sosa Seki and his hot bat.

If not for Athens winning the first game the sweep would have been in force as The Fighting Centaurs lost game #2 with a 2-4 scoreline and game #3 by a
3-9 scoreline to send the series into a 2-1 scoreline in favour of Tripoli with a game to play.

Luring Reini away from the BBA was a big haul.

No doubt. My team already misses him.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Did you offer him anything or did he refuse?

He wanted $15m per season from me also. I had no cap room to accommodate such a request, especially since bullpen depth is a strength currently in my organization.
