Another month in the books and he Centaurs continue to slightly exceed expectations, going 16-13 in the month to raise their record to 32-25, putting the team on 91-win pace. The highlight was an 8-game winning streak which included sweeps of Tripoli and Cairo. The team definitely suffered on the road, going just 7-10 away from Athens.

What went right: Definitely the offense, which scored just over 5 runs per game on the month. 1B Yunosuke Terada (.322, 9 HR, 22 RBI) and LF Quinn Greene (.305/8/21) powered the way while combining for 26 walks btween the pair of them. Ace SP Euan Ring also held up his end of the bargain, going 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA in his 6 starts.

What went wrong: Particularly troublesome for May was the defense - the starting infield is up to 25 errors on the season already. SP Felipe Mendez was a bit of a mess this month, going just 1-2 and sporting an 8.46 ERA on the month. With our typical closer out for most of the month, Steffan Gimseng took over the role and struggled to a 6.39 ERA and losing 2 games.

Down on the Farm: Highlighting the month on the farm was the draft. We had extra picks in each of the first 3 rounds and signed everyone, providing a nice boost to the minors. We took SP Cody Glynn 4th overall, a hard throwing 19-year-old with a 3 pitch mix. The pick following we picked crafty lefty SP Satyajit Neel who should rise rapidly through the minors.

The Road Ahead: More road games! 15 of 26 on the road and by the end of June all thanks to a season-ending 13-game homestand which will be the big push to the finish line for us.
