While his pursuit of .400 fell short in the final sim, Mynorli Gaajlimitz did manage to make BBA history in the final week of the season by snapping the 19-year old, single season hits record held by Dennis French. Mynorli did so in Portland's September 20 game in Valencia. In that game, Gaajlimitz tied and then broke the record as he went 3-3 in the contest. At that time, he was hitting .399 on the season. He finished the year at .394.

"I guess there's always next year to hit .400" said the still 20 year old superstar hitter. "I probably wanted .400 more than I did the single season hits record but I'll just set my sites on chasing and going after both next year."

Gaajlimitz's early success has many wondering yet again how he fell to the 5th overall pick in the 2057 draft.

"It doesn't make a lot of sense" said one rival GM. "The kid is just 20 and is already setting historic records and chasing historical feats. "If this kid stays on this trajectory, one can only wonder where his career numbers will end up."

More will likely follow this team news when the Lumberjacks announce Mynorli as their top hitter. The number of franchise records he set this year are also remarkable.

"The sky is the limit for Mynorli" added Sandy Mounds. "Some are saying he'll break Kengos' record one of these days. I agree."

Mounds is referencing Bopper Kengos, the all-time BBA hits king with 3,900 hits. Kengos had 228 in his age 20 season. It's very likely Mynorli will have 1,000 hits at age 22.

Looking at the ones ahead of him. Lazer made perfect sense. From there it's more ambiguous. Didn't @RonCo pass because of his draft demand which he couldn't afford?

I passed on Gaajlimitz because I thought Benji Amberman was a better prospect. Just like I passed on Miller Shed. I don't really regret that choice but at 16 WAR vs. Gaajlimitz's 10, if I had to pick Shed or Gaajlimitz, I'd pick Shed.

I would probably have passed on Lazer, too, FWIW. I remember being happy he'd been selected because that meant I wouldn't be tempted. :)

That said, Lazer should be a good player. I'm just worried he's not going to be able to hit, and if he can't hit, he'll turn into Tyler Conklin...who is a guy with a glove you almost have to play even though he's replacement level.
