There really is no other way to describe it at this point. That's exactly what it is. The headline says it all. The 2056 season in Portland is officially titled "The Shit Show". That's what you're getting on a nightly basis. A pure, outright, SHIT SHOW!

Portland sits at 23-48, the worst record in the Frick League. Prior to this sim, a sim that saw them win two games, Portland owned the league's worst record.

"We're not a very good team" commented first year Portland manager Ricky Gibson. "We showed some flashes early in the season but things have taken a turn for the worse. If we can't figure out how to get outs, it's going to continue to be bad."

The season hit a low point recently when the team lost a franchise worst 20th game in a row. Yes, you read that correctly. From May 22 to June 12, the Portland Lumberjacks failed to win a single game. That streak included 4 games in extra innings. The club is even 5-26 over it's last 31 games.

"Well, had we won half the games we lost during that span, we'd be close to a .500 team" added Gibson trying to sound positive.

The pitching has been the main culprit of the Lumberjacks woes as the team ranks dead last in runs allowed, giving up 412 runs on the season. In fact, Portland ranks last in 6 of the 10 major pitching categories, and is next to worst in 2 others.

"Pitching was our strong point for so long" discussed GM Chris Wilson. "We built a competitive team on the back of strong starting pitching. Those guys deteoriating faster that we expected really set us back. I don't have a lot to offer our fans at the moment other than we'll continue to work to try and make things better. You'll just have to bear with us."
