Well, the schedule makers are at it again with their anti-Portland biases in 2055. Portland drew yet another craptastic schedule for the season, one that won't benefit the team or the city for a calendar year. How so, you might ask?

Want to watch Portland to start the season at home? Nope! For what feels like the 100th time in a row (exaggeration considering this is only the 16th season of Portland Lumberjacks baseball) the team will begin on the road. I guess the good news is the season kicks off in lovely, beautiful Hawaii!

"That would be good and ok if we didn't have to fly all the way to hickville Louisville after the 2nd game of the season for a 4 game set with the Sluggers" said GM Chris Wilson. "No day off for that either. Guess we need a corporate sponsorship with Red Bull or something."

Want to catch the team on a Saturday this season in Portland? Want the team to benefit from huge weekend gates? Well, think again. Portland only has 7 home games on a Saturday this season. And if you really want to know, we have 8 Saturdays off this season.

"Hey, our book keeper will like not having to count any extra money from those weekend gates" commented team owner David Wallace. "I mean who REALLY wants extra revenue these days? Right!?

And the icing on the cake, if by some chance Portland gets into contention this year and is in a race down the stretch, that 13 game road with out a rest day to finish the season should really help their chances at a post-season spot.

"Is there a fucking convention in September in Portland at the end of September someone has failed to tell me about" barked Wilson. "Why do we always finish with massive road trips to finish the season. It nearly cost us in 2049. Remember that? We played about a million road games in September and blew a lead. Had to play a 163rd game because of it and squeaked into the playoffs. Yeah, maybe we need a baseball convention in September around here so we can play some freaking home games down the stretch."

I guess one bright spot is we play 19 home games in July, when the weather is nicest so come out to the Trail in Multnomah then! Hopefully we're still competitive then!

The schedule is always strange. Maybe because there are 32 teams?

Not sure.
