We Got Wood - 48.14 - Lay It On Thick

The derailment has begun :coffee: After a scorching 18-10 start to April and the 2048 season, the Portland Lumberjacks have begun their slide back to reality. They spent 3 sims in first place. Three glorious sims. But now reality is setting back in and the club is likely to continue its fall down the standings in the Pacific :coffee: The team is just 3-6 in May which includes losing 2 straight to Twin Cities, which solidifies the inevitable fall. The team is no longer in first and is surely set to look up at Sacramento (and others) for the remainder of the season :coffee:

McBride Injured.
To pour salt in the wound of failure, Ernest McBride was injured and is likely to miss 4-6 weeks of action with a broken bone in his arm. We can't overcome this :coffee: Reports are still out, but there are some conspiracy theorists in the league who feel the hit by pitch McBride suffered against San Fernando was intentional as others in the Pacific have rallied together to prevent Portland from enjoying any level of success :coffee: Of course the same conspiracy theorists are indicating that the same parties that be that may have been involved in McBride's injury are also threatening Wilson Andrade with physical threats if he ever decides to "hit like he used to". So far, those threats, if true, are working.

Ngo Out. Gomez In.
Portland manager Farri Agymah made a bold move in recent weeks, removing rookie reliever Xuan Ngo from his closers role in favor of Rafael Gomez. The former first round pick Ngo had blown 4 of his 10 save chances this season so Agymah felt a change was needed. After developing a devastating changeup in recent weeks, Agymah made the switch to Gomez who is thus far 2 for 2 in his chances. Granted, his chances are few because, well we suck again :coffee:
