By a narrow margin, Portland's entry into the BBA Food Bracket, "Kate's Kookies", has knocked off New Orleans' Bases Loaded Beignets setting up a divisional matchup between the Lumberjacks' cookies and San Fernando's burrito. San Fernando's "The Jon Reed Messy Burrito" cruised past the sushi entry from Vancouver to set up this showdown of Frick League Pacific titans.
To promote the Portland entry, Kate Fiscus, the supposed namesake of Kate's Kookies, made a surprise appearance today at the Trail of Multomah park. She visited the leftfield concourse stand where Kate's Kookies are sold. Kate, who has been both rumored to be with our minor league teams this season boosting morale while also possibly in kahoots with some Hellscape woman in Yellow Springs, took a break from her secret team disappearance today to speak on behalf of the cookies and against San Fernando's entry.
"I'm so proud and honored that our Kate's Kookies have been doing so well. We all knew they would. You throw in some bourbon, cookies, attractive people, and some white liquid and good things are bound to happen. I can't tell you how many times I've had that combination in my life."
Kate then spoke briefly against the San Fernando entry. "The Jon Reed Messy Burrito" Kate began, "sounds like a decent meal. But also sounds like a meal that'll cause you to miss half the game. That's just wrong. And who wants Messy? Boys I can tell you one thing, there ain't nothing messy about my cookie."
To further promote the Portland entry, Kate and a mysterious friend posed with milk and cookies for the upcoming ad campaign to be pushed this week. It's not known who the mysterious woman was, but rumors are circulating the name Heidi was mentioned leaving some to believe it was the infamous Heidi Hickman. Some video footage has been leaked of the photo shoot but no one can identify whether it was the infamous Hickman.

However many don't really seem to care at this point. Kate and the mystery woman then left the ballpark.
