We Got Wood - 41.02 - The One Where We Add Wings to the Hall

One of the good things about being a new franchise is your history starts from day 1. And being in place from day 1 allows you to preserve that history. Portland Team Owner David Wallace and General Manager Chris Wilson announced today that the club will do all it can to preserve the history of the franchise and allow fans to continue to see the franchise grow while always being able to reflect on the past. That will be done by adding some additions to the Portland Hall of Fame and Museum.
"Well, it's called the Hall of Fame AND Museum" said team owner David Wallace. "Clearly we aren't in the position to add any players to that particular portion of the building but we felt it important to preserve what we expect to be a long standing history with this franchise."
"David is correct" added General Manager Chris Wilson. "We started that earlier this season by preserving the franchise's first in the Hall of Fame and Museum. Recently, we added a few wings to the building where we will continue preserving the history of the franchise by tracking our 'rivalry records' against opponents in the Frick League as well as keeping tracking of our player awards per season."
Both additions were made this past week but the duo announced the changes today.
"Clearly, it'll give some other teams, most notably Vancouver, a little extra bragging rights early on" added Wallace. "But over the long haul, it'll be fun to watch us close the gap and eventually surpass those guys up North. Again, their our main rivals so it's important to see how that plays out over the next few years as we develop some sort of name for the Rivalry akin to the years past when rivalry cups were prevalent in the league. It will also mark as a black eye to franchise's like Chicago, Madison, Frick League Champion Louisville, and Chicago who weren't even able to beat us in our first year."
"You said Chicago twice" chimed in Wilson.
"Oh did I?" Asked Wallace with a wry grin.
"Plus we want to track the history of our player awards" added Wilson. "We named guys regularly in Madison but never tracked it year to year. We wanted fans to be able to track the history of our player awards as well."
