Wilson hurries to his phone. Dials the number.
Chris: Kate, thank goodness. Shew!
Kate: What is is Chris? You sound out of breath.
Chris: Yeah [catches breath]. Something important [catches breath] has come up. I need you on it. ASAP.
Kate: It's why you hired me. What's up?
Chris: I need you on the next flight to California. How quickly can you get there?
Kate: [looking at her phone at flight] 8 hours I can be there. That work.
Chris: It'll have to. Book the flight. I'll send you some coordinates as to where I need you to go and I'll fill you in on the details later. Call me when you land.
[Approximately 8 hours later]
Chris: You get the coordinates?
Kate: Yeah, I'm here now. Looks like an abandoned used car lot. You sure this is the right place?
Chris: If you're at the coordinates I sent you, then yes.
Kate: Place looks deserted. I do see one light on inside though. Place has an odd smell.
Chris: Sounds like you're in Vancouver with me. Deserted. Bad smell. Wait, nevermind. Back to the task. You see anyone around? I need you to get to the room with the light. Find the documents.
Kate: I'm looking. Yeah, I see one guy. Looks like, uh, maybe a security guard of some point. That's odd. Why would a security guard be at an abandoned used car dealership?
Chris: Then you're definitely in the right place. I need you to sneak past the guard and get into the room. Can you do it?
Kate: Yeah, give me a minute. I'll call you back.
[10 minutes later]
Chris: [answers phone] You in?
Kate: Yeah, I'm in the office. What do you need me to do?
Chris: How'd you get around the guard so quick?
Kate: I'd rather not say. But let's just say, I have a set of skills. A set of skills that allows me to get what I want.
Chris: What sort of.... nevermind. Look around for anything that may look important.
Kate: [scanning the room] I see something that looks like some notes, a bunch of doodles. Maybe a blueprint of some sort with notes.
Chris: The BlueprintTM!? [Chris adds a chuckle]
Kate: I don't know what that means.
Chris: It's not THE BlueprintTM. I'll explain later. But it may be what we are looking for. Kate, if you've found this, the BBA will forever be in your debt and trust me, the Commissioner's office will forgive you of everything you might have done in the past. Read to me what it says.
Kate: Sheesh, it just has a bunch of notes written all over. Let me see here. Something about "Player Demands". Something over here about "Manipulation of Contracts" and "Tanking". Something on this page about "Salary caps". Just a bunch of league stuff it seems. Is that what I'm looking for?
Chris: YES! That's it. Get it all. Take every bit of it.
Kate: OK. I have it. You need me to come to Vancouver? Bring it to you?
Chris: No! No! Destroy it. Go out back. Find a pit. Find a barrel. I don't care. Burn it! Burn it all! Then get back to Portland. We still have to get ready for Chicago coming soon.
Kate: Ok, will do. I'll get it taken care of. Just have to follow up with the security guard real quick?
Chris: No, no! Destroy the documents first then get out of there.
Kate: It's ok, Chris. They'll be destroyed. The guard said I could have whatever I needed if I saw him again before I leave.
Chris: Ok, whatever! Just destroy the documents and get back to Portland ASAP!
Kate: Ok.
Chris: And Kate....
Kate: Yes?
Chris: Go BBA and Go Lumberjacks!
