After 80-games played, the Firedancers found themselves with a 44-36 overall record and clinging to a Wild Card spot in the Ruport Horn Memorial League Roundfield League Standings. Unfortunately for the Firedancers, they're in the same division as the Indianapolis Force, the AAA's best team that sits 10 games cleared of Quincy at the moment in the Midwestern Standings.

What has allowed the Firedancers to stay in the race though has been their exceptional pitching stats which rank in the top 3rd in most categories. Flynn Venegas, fleeced from Vancouver in the expansion draft, was named to the Triple-A All-Star game and has posted a 7-3 record this season and 3.01 ERA. His 2.2 WAR ranks 5th right now in the league. Again, these names and solid play are creating a buzz around the organization and the front office is taking notice.
"We are definitely keeping an eye on what's taking place in Quincy" said General Manager Chris Wilson. "While obviously the focus is on things here in Portland, it would be nice to see some part of the organization have some success here in year 1. We've even begun making sure our Triple-A roster for the Firedancers has solid players on it to stay in the hunt. We've just recently made some roster moves to add some guys to the Quincy roster to fill in for some injured players. Our farm system is unique to most because we started the season without one. We have guys have all ability and ages playing throughout a variety of rankings. While it might take a season or two to build a normal farm system and run things properly, we may be making sure that, for now, Quincy can make a run at the post-season. Perhaps making the AAA post-season is part of the "Master PlanTM"
