When Portland was granted an expansion team in 2039 and began play in 2040, team owner David Wallace agreed to keep things new and fresh in Portland. This meant every decade, the team would rebrand, generate a new logo for the franchise and unveil new look uniforms. Wallace stuck to his word as the Lumberjacks spent the first 10 years wearing green tops with a bearded Lumberjack holding an axe logo. Both can be seen by visiting the Portland Lumberjacks Museum of Baseball. The franchise changed to it's current orange uniforms in 2050, sporting the tree and axe logo. But next season is 2060, another new decade.
"Keeping with Wallace's vision" discussed Sandy Mound, "the Portland Lumberjacks will rebrand in 2060. Some may say it's a bad time to do that, with the team coming off it's first ever championship. It doesn't stick to the traditionalists at heart. But we like to look at it as this is our mindset. It's a new decade and a new look. What better way to promote a championship season that sporting a fresh new look as well."
Mounds stated that a new uniform look is still in the works and hasn't been completed as of yet. But thanks to the design firm of "Gerties and BrewCrew", a new logo has been unveiled.
"We wanted something that took us back to that original Lumberjack look but with an edge" added Mounds. "And we think we found it. I present to you the next Lumberjacks logo for the upcoming decade!"
