Despite being an expansion team starting in 2040, the Lumberjacks didn't have a ton of players making their rookie debut this season. After looking through the roster, the choice as to who to give the award to was narrowed down to one main guy.

What hurt Kim mostly was he was not very good against lefty pitching which probably hurt his overall production. With the possibility of Howeth-Arneson Jr coming up next season to man the CF position, there is some belief within the organization that Kim will be a platoon player in a corner outfield spot where his defensive ability will be more prominent than it was this year in Center.
Kim will also go down in Portland history as the first guy to hit a homerun in the franchise's history!
