2064.7 Prospect Watch 3B

This is the fourth article in my series taking a look at the top prospects in my organization. This article will cover my top third base prospects.

The top prospect on the list is Roberto Villalobos.He was selected in the third round of the 2063 draft and spent the rest of the year at AAA Richmond. He got off to a slow start but played well down the stretch, finishing the year with a slash line of .277/.343/.425 with 14 doubles, 11 home runs, 35 RBI, and 15 stolen bases in 89 games. Over his last 28 games, Villalobos had an OPS of 1.006.

The next player on the list is Rick Southern. He was acquired in a trade with Louisville prior to the 2063 season. Southern started the year in AA and finished in AAA. He his 24 home runs in 138 games between the two levels. He is a competent defender with a potentially solid bat.

The third prospect on the list is Boguslaw Kotas. He has been with the organization since being drafted in 2059 and has played at Rookie, Short A, A, and AA. Kotas has a combined slash line of .290/.366/.456 in 471 minor league games, with a wRC+ of 131. He hit 20 home runs in AA this year and learned to play 1B, making him more versatile. His ratings are not inspiring but he has performed well so far during his time in the organization.

Zeljko Milkovich and Cyril Maharas round out the list as recent IAFA signings.
