2062.21 Sim 2 Fun Facts

Post by Krathan » Mon Feb 10, 2025 3:28 pm

Game 1 vs Brooklyn:

Ignacio Lewis got his first BBA win . He pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk. Qing-lai Ou-yang and Josh Dougherty finished the game with a combined 3.2 innings of scoreless ball, allowing just 1 base runner on a walk. Ou-yang and Dougherty had each allowed 4 runs in 2 appearances during the first 7 games of the season.

Ben Graybill tripled to lead off the 2nd inning after not getting any extra base hits in the first 7 games. It was only the 2nd triple of his career.

Brooklyn rookie starting pitcher Larry Jensen lasted only .2 innings because of a sprained ankle. The Flyers scored 3 of their 4 runs off of the long man, Steven Anderton, who pitched through the 4th inning.

Game 2 vs Brooklyn:

Felipe Cummings made his BBA debut in this game. He pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6. He got the loss because Tony Jones pitched 7.2 scoreless innings for the Robins. Jones has allowed 10 runs in 5.2 innings in his other 2 starts this year.

Game 3 at Jacksonville:

Buwono Mainaky no longer has a low pitch limit but he still didn't get out of the 5th inning. This time, it was because he started the 5th by hitting Roy O'Donnell with a pitch and giving up a 2 run home run to pinch hitter Isoruko Takimoto and allowing the Zombies to retake the lead 4-3.

Game 4 at Jacksonville:

Jacquot Natta allowed 2 runs in 5.1 innings and was in line for the win because the offense got to Bob Anderson for 4 runs on 10 hits in 5 innings. Then Takiji Takahashi pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in the 6th and 7th. Takahashi came back out for the 8th and gave up a single, a strikeout, back to back home runs, and a double that came around to score after he was pulled from the game. Takahashi was the losing pitcher despite retiring 5 of the first 6 batters he faced.

Game 5 at Jacksonville:

John Rasmussen III allowed 5 runs in just 2.1 innings, thanks in large part to the 3 home runs he gave up. The Flyers still won the game because they scored 10 runs, despite only getting 9 hits.

Game 6 at Atlantic City:

Ignacio Lewis had his best start of the season, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. However, it turns out that the solo home run he allowed to Javier Aguilar was the only run scored in the game. Lewis fell to 1-2 on the year despite boasting a 3.31 ERA.

Game 7 at Atlantic City:

Dallas Dixon went 1-4 with a single in the 1st inning. That single was the 2,000th hit of his career.

Felipe Cummings was not as effective as he was during his BBA debut against Brooklyn. In this game, he allowed 3 runs in 5 innings, giving up 2 home runs in the process. This time, he got the win though, because the offense came through in a 5-4 final score.

General:

The Flyers only hit 2 home runs this week, giving them just 6 in the first 14 games of the season.

The bullpen gave up just 9 runs in 7 games this week after allowing 23 in the first 7 games.
