The Elkins Buzzards were coming off of their best season ever last year. This year’s version of the team came back down to Earth but still had a respectable 34-34 season. In fact, it was only the second season of .500 or better since 2043 and only the 5th in team history.
POSITION PLAYER OF THE YEAR: 2B Pablo Vasquez
For the second consecutive season, Vasquez was the best player on the team. He led the team with 2.9 WAR in 45 games before being promoted to Short A late in the year. Vasquez slashed .385/.445/.492 with a wRC+ of 167.
PITCHER OF THE YEAR: SP Alan Greene
Greene was Charlotte’s 20th round draft pick in 2058. He went 3-4 with an ERA of 3.54 on the season. He led the team in ERA in his first pro campaign.
