The Panthers finished the 2058 season with a record of 65-79, in 4th place in the Great Lakes division of the Rupert Horn Memorial League. They finished 31 games out of 1st place in the division. They improved slightly on their 2057 record of 62-82.
POSITION PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
LF Jorge Trujillo
Trujillo was also named the AAA position player of the year in 2057. He continued his success for the Panthers in 2058, leading the team in batting average (.344) and RBI (51). He was called up to the big league club on August 26 and spent the rest of the season there.
PITCHER OF THE YEAR:
SP Walt Quero
Quero was signed to a minor league contract in the offseason and added to the 40 man roster because he was out of options. He spent the year starting 26 games for Richmond. He was tied for the team lead in wins with 9. He led the team in ERA with a 4.26 mark. He was second on the team with 140 strikeouts. Quero threw 158.1 innings and made 15 quality starts for a QS% of 57.7.
