In this edition of Flight Log, we take a look at one of the top performers in the postseason run for the Flyers.

Victor Frazier is an excellent defender. He won the 2057 Zimmer in CF and is the favorite to win it again in 2058. He has good speed, stealing 37 bases in 43 attempts through 379 big league games. He has some power, hitting 40 home runs over that span as well. He is a career .246 hitter, ending 2 of his 3 big league seasons around .230. His 2057 campaign seemed as though it could be a breakout year, with a slash line of .270/.317/.441 and a wRC+ 20 points higher than the previous season. However, his 2058 stats were more inline with his rookie season, making it seem more likely that 2057 was an outlier instead of a precursor of things to come.

With all of that said, Frazier is currently one of the most discussed and beloved players on this Charlotte baseball club. Why is that? It’s because he has demonstrated a knack for getting big hits in big games over the last 10 days. Here is what Frazier has done to gain the adoration of his fans.

1.In game 163 against Las Vegas, Frazier had only 1 hit. That hit was a 2 run home run that gave the Flyers a 4-2 lead in a game they won 5-2.
2. Despite the fact that Montreal won game 1 of the Geohagen Series, Frazier gave the Flyers an early lead with a home run in the top of the 2nd inning.
3. With the Flyers trailing 2 games to none against the Blazers, Frazier came to bat in the bottom of the 9th with his team 3 outs away from elimination. Frazier crushed an opposite field home run to tie the game, giving Charlotte an opportunity to walk it off in the 12th.
4. Frazier helped drive the offense in game 4 with a single, a double, a home run, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI as the Flyers evened the series at 2 games apiece.

Overall, Frazier was 6-18 with 2 walks, 1 double, 3 home runs, 5 runs scored, 4 runs batted in and 1 stolen base in the 5 game playoff series.

Victor Frazier has cemented his place in Charlotte baseball history with that performance. Despite the team’s failure to advance past the 1st round, the young center fielder provided his fans with many reasons to cheer and hope in key moments.
