In this edition of Flight Log, we take a look at the most recent week of games.

The Flyers had an up and down week that saw them win 3 and lose 3. By the end of the week, they had fallen into a tie with Cham City 5 games behind Montreal.

The week began with 2 losses to Rocky Mountain. In game 1, Charlotte took a 4-3 lead into the 7th, led by Manny Toledo’s 10th home run of the season. Then Neil Davies allowed 1 inherited runner and 3 of his own runs to score, putting the Flyers in a hole they couldn’t dig out of. Davies has been great most of the time this season but couldn’t hold onto the lead in this one. The Oysters won 7-5. Game 2 featured a poor start by Buwono Mainaky as Rocky Mountain cruised to an 8-4 win.

Game 3 was tied 1-1 as the crowd sand “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” but Tadataka Yoshikawa hit a solo home run in the 7th and Victor Frazier hit one in the 8th. The Flyers won 3-1. The series finale featured seven strong innings by Andres Gonzales in a 4-2 Flyers win to earn the series split.

The week ended with Charlotte splitting the first two games of their series against Phoenix. Saturday’s game was highlighted by Yoshikawa’s 9th inning game tying home run to send the game to extras and a walk-off RBI single by Robert Menzies in the 11th for a 4-3 win. Sunday saw the Charlotte bullpen fall apart in the 9th after an excellent start by Little Johnny Rasmussen. The Flyers led 4-1 going into the final frame and lost 5-4.
