The Cougars got their guy. Today the Cougars are proud to announce the signing of pitcher Nobuhito Kan to compete for a spot in the rotation or provide some much-needed length out of the bullpen. The 28 year old righty agreed to a 4 year deal worth $3.2 million per year with the final year being an opt out. Kan has spent parts of the past 7 seasons in teh bigs with Nashville, amassing a career BBA ERA of 3.96 in 692 innings. He was a full-time starter up until 2053 when he was used in a limited bullpen role, throwing just 30 innings in BBA and an additional 2.2 in AAA after straining his hamstring in early April. Kan has a lengthy medical report with elbow decompression surgery in 2052, Tommy John in 2051 and a variety of smaller injuries along the way.
The Cougars feel confident that he's read to go in a full time role now and hope they've caught a diamond in the rough whose price fell due to those injury concerns and limited availability in recent years. They are banking on him regaining his performance from a few years ago when he was an All-Star in 2049 when he won 19 games and put up a 2.71 ERA.
With the addition of Kan, the Cougars pitching looks set (or close) but there is work to be done on the offensive side of the ball.

Stupid injuries! He was a great pitcher, but I doubt he’ll ever be the same. Good intangibles though and the popularity boost always helps.
