C-Notes 2051.12 - Another Cougar Deal?

As we read about in other recent Cougar news, GM Golden looks like he is pushing all his chips into the center of the table to get the Cougars set up as best he can for a deep post-season run. Just hours after he shook up the pitching staff, GM Golden decided to address a need offensively as well.

This time, the Cougars welcomed CF Arvin Duggan and SS Warren Danvers to the club. Duggan will immediately join the Cougars with Danvers heading to AAA Richmond for the time being.

Duggan will replace Lorenzo Bueno as the starting Center Fielder. While Bueno is having a good year, advanced metrics have decided that Duggan offered just a bit more help to the offense. Additionally, with all those years of playoff experience with the Yellow Springs Nine, GM Golden is hoping that Duggan knows what it takes to win more than one playoff series in a year.

Gone are 3B Vasco Fonzarelli, CF Joe Quinn, P Thad Culhane, and 1B Tracy Allison.

GM Golden had this to say about the group - "No offense to the guys, but Allison was probably the only one that would have ever truly worn a Cougars uniform, and that wouldnt have been for a few years anyway. We're looking to win now and sometimes you have to make sacrifices."

Will these two recent trades be enough? We'll know in just under 2 months.

Good trade. I think Fonzarelli is the only player you'll miss but it's worth the move.
