C-Notes 2048.09 - Cougar Shopping?

We're hearing many rumors that the Charlotte Cougars GM may already be shopping some of the team's stars for potential off-season moves. While the typical rumor-mill for potential trade candidates on their final year of a contract swirled for players like SP Francisco Franco and P Emilio Brazini, there were no last minute trade deadline deals for GM Golden. Not even for the multiple rumors for younger players in the pre-arbitration years like ace pitcher Thomas Turner.

"I've told you all before, I'll trade anyone, anytime if I think it will make this team get better," said GM Golden.

With the Cougars still in the playoff picture, they did slide a little after posting a 13-16 record in August. "I cant figure it out right now. 14-12 in April, but then 21-8 in May. 12-15 in June, but then 18-7 in July. 13-16 in August. Does that mean we wake up again in September? I sure hope so, for all their sakes," commented Golden.

Either way, we expect GM Golden to get busy going shopping now. Now that the trade deadline is past, there isnt much he can do to help the team, though he did call up three young guys we expect to be on the team next season. But watch out, big names might be floated and deals in place before a banner is getting raised at the end of this season.
