We're hearing rumors that Charlotte Cougars GM Brett Golden is shopping SP Thomas Turner around. Turner has quietly started to become one of the more popular players on this talented club and still has a season of league minimum pay before he enters his arbitration year after the 2049 season.

Tuner burst on to the Charlotte scene in 2046, starting 19 games, going 6-7 with a 4.19 ERA. While that was the first-ever season the Cougars made the playoffs, everyone knew that Turner was the future at that point, and not the playoff savior.

In his two seasons since then, Tuner has managed 55 starts, going 30-15 on those starts. In just over 350 innings, Tuner has 282 strikeouts compared to just 49 walks. While Tuner's fastball and splitter are above average pitches, its his wicked slider that has carried him. One of his best games yet as a major leaguer came on July 14th against Charm City where he threw 9 innings of shutout ball, giving up only 3 hits, striking out 4 while walking none.

When asked why he would actively shop such a player, GM Golden responded by saying, "Anyone on this team is always tradeable. I'll trade anyone, anytime, if the offer is right. Heck, I'd trade my mother if the offer made this team better."

At least I don't see her on the trade block yet.
