C-Notes 2044.14 - Cougars Finish Strong

For much of the season, the Charlotte Cougars were not a team that many opponents worried too much about, outside of Rockville. But in September, GM Golden may have found a formula that works. The Cougars went 15-11 in September to finish with 71 wins on the season, well above all projections.
Through most of the season, the Cougars were in the bottom 2-3 teams in the JL in almost every offensive category. At the end of September, batting average and OBP reached 7th and 9th, respectively. The Cougars knew they'd be at the bottom of the JL when it came to HRs, but being last in extra base hits was not expected with this group of speedsters and gap hitters.
The Cougars have definitely been built for Family Dollar Field. The Cougars went 43-38 at home but only 28-53 on the road.
However, with a full season of Bobby Horne (32 HRs) and Ramón Pagán (34 HRs) and potentially adding a full season of Andrew Gallagher (11 HRs in 61 games) and potentially a little more power with César Torres, Charlotte will look to score a little more away from home next season as well.
Early projections from within the Charlotte Front Office are hearing mentions of a .500 season in 2045! Stay tuned.
