C-Notes 2043.10 - April's Cougar Collection

The Charlotte Cougars started the 2043 season with some high hopes. We arent talking necessarily Landis, or even playoff, high hopes, but more a close to .500 record high hopes. But, after spending most of April on the road, including one road trip that went from Mexico City, to Calgary, to Brooklyn, and a 4-game visit to Charm City, the Cougars limped through the month to a 9-18 April. There were a few highlights, however.

Batter of the Month: While Charlotte's offense left a lot to be desired in April, 1B/DH Rashardo Menne was easily the Cougars' offensive star of the month. In 27 games, Menne went .288/.357/.356 with 3 doubles, 2 triples, 11 runs scored, 7 RBI, and 13 stolen bases.

Pitcher of the Month: After winning a couple of these awards last season, SP Adergazoz Ouakili started off the 2043 season right where he left off. In April, Ouakili started 6 games and 39.1 innings, going 2-1. For the month, he gave up 22 hits, 6 earned runs (3 were HRs), a 1.37 ERA, 0.66 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts to only 4 walks!

AAA Player of the Month: The month of April belonged to RP Pjotr Eland. In 6 games, Eland went 3-0 with 2 Holds. While pitching 8.0 innings, Eland only gave up 6 hits on his way to a 0.00 ERA and a WHIP of 0.75, thanks in large part to his 10 strikeouts and 0 walks.
