C-Notes 2043.03 - All Quiet on the FA Front

GM Golden tends to be fairly active in Free Agency. Being an expansion team and wanting to compete, there really isnt a quicker way to getting better. This year though, it seemed a little quieter than usual for a Golden-led Front Office.
The only player GM Golden brought in this season was OF Abdelwahab 'Gasoline' Kamade, for a nice, easy one-year $2M contract. The 32 year old Kamade can play pretty much anywhere in the outfield but he will most likely find himself patrolling left field in the expansive Charlotte outfield. Kamade, a .293/.344/.436 career hitter, had his best days when he played for Golden in Nashville.
"I tried to get him a couple of seasons ago when he hit FA. San Antonio outbid us. We weren't a very strong team back then and didnt want to put ourselves into too much of a financial jam. We had a feeling a lot of other teams were going to go after Grant Lee (Lee ended up signing with Chicago for $7.3M AAV), but Gasoline is a more balanced hitter with just a little bit less power than Piglet. Gasoline just fits what we are doing here in Charlotte. We hope he has a great year and wants to stick around for a couple more seasons," said GM Golden.
