C-Notes 2042.14 - September's Cougar Collection

The Charlotte Cougars played a little better in September than they did in August, going 11-17. Perhaps it was the veterans seeing the young guys getting called up and having their spot on the team threatened. Perhaps it was the young guys getting excited and going above and beyond to prove they belong. No matter the reason, here were the bright spots:
Batter of the Month: This month's award goes to 3B Joey Newhouse. Newhouse only went .276/.360/.429 for September, but that was all that was needed to lead this team. Newhouse also managed 6 doubles, 3 HRs, 12 RBI, 16 Runs Scored, and 9 SBs. Newhouse is a FA at the end of the season, but the Cougars are hoping he is willing to stick around and build something special.
Pitcher of the Month: September belonged (well, for Charlotte) to Adergazoz Ouakili. In 5 starts, Ouakili went 3-2 with a 4.97 ERA in 25.1 innings. Ouakili also managed 31 strikeouts to just 9 walks, a 1.18 WHIP and an OAVG of just .223 to lead the way for the Cougars.
AAA Player of the Month: Although it was a short 5 games into September for the Panthers, 3B Pedro Nava shone the brightest. Nava's .450/.522/1.100 was impressive in just a short amount of time. Those numbers included 1 double and 4 HRs, 7 Runs Scored, and 7 RBI.
