The Charlotte Cougars recently highlighted one of their September call-ups, SP Emilio Brazini (Brazini In The House). Since that story, Brazini found himself starting against another Atlantic Division powerhouse, on the road in Rockville.
Brazini seemed to find something in that Charm City game and he brought it with him to Owen's Ordinary Ballpark where he threw 7.1 shutout innings against the Pikemen. The biggest threat came in the 7th, with 2 outs, when Brazini walked Catcher Felipe Mercado before giving up a double to the right-center gap to CF Manuel Rivera (with the slow-footed Mercado being held up at thrid.) Brazini then walked SS Pedro Díaz on four straight pitches to load the bases. Brazini managed to get out of the jam when he struck out 2B Daniel Pepper to end the inning.
Charlotte Manager Fernando Aguilar decided to let Brazini come back out for the 8th inning to face Rockville 1B Bing-de Zhào, who lined out to center, before bringing in RP Félix García to finish the job.
With these types of outings against a lineup as venerable as Rockville's, Brazini is sure to be a fixture in the Cougar rotation for years to come.

Better than expected start. Hope he can work on the walks, though. Hella endurance on this dude.

I fear the walks wont get much better. That's where the groundballs and a great IF defense come in to play/
