C-Notes 2042.10 - July's Cougar Collection

The Charlotte Cougars had their first-ever winning month in July, going 14-11 for the month. Looking at the stats, it was definitely decent pitching and great defense doing the trick. Can they keep it up as we head into the home stretch? With SS Quinn Richardson tearing a hamstring on 28 July, just as he seemed to be heating up some, the Charlotte Front Office is holding its breath. In the meantime, here are your Cougars of the month for July:

Batter of the Month: We're going to give this award to the newly acquired Catcher, Aaron Stone. In July, Stone slashed .233/.352/.521, while hitting 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 5 HRs. Those numbers were accompanied by 9 Runs, 15 RBI, and 1 SB. Not a spectacular month by any means, but nice numbers to see from the new backstop.

Pitcher of the Month: With a whopping 1.2 WAR for the month, SP Keijo 'Coach' Reini was easily the Cougar pitcher of the month for July. Reini went 2-1 in 6 starts, with an ERA of 3.15 over 40.0 innings for the month. While those numbers seem pedestrian, his 0.85 WHIP, .182 OAVG, and .227 BABIP, coupled with his 50 Ks to only 8 Walks for the month, certainly had Reini standing out among his peers.

AAA Player of the Month: Richmond Panthers CF Florian Rudhart had quite the month in July. Rudhart slashed .312/.400/.486 while hitting 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 4 HRs. Rudhart also scored 19 Runs while driving in 15 RBI and 4 SBs for a 1.7 WAR for the month.
