C-Notes 2042.8 - June's Cougar Collection

The Charlotte Cougars went a surprising 13-13 in June! Was it all the transactions that occurred? Not doubt it still had a little bit to do with the awesome defense and better=than=expected pitching. And, it always helps when the offense decides to come and participate as well. The brightest spots during June can be seen in June's Cougar Collection:

Batter of the Month: 22 year old SS Quinn 'Short Stuff' Richardson led the way offensively in June for the Cougars. Although his .279/.296/.577 slash line wont turn too many heads, compared to the rest of the lineup, his 7 doubles and 8 HRs, 14 RBI and 2 SBs. (Now, if we can just get him to even out his 23 Ks to 3 BBs...)

Pitcher of the Month: Newly minted Closer, José Harrara is the Cougar's June Pitcher of the Month. Although Harrara only pitched 10.1 innings in 12 appearances, he managed to go 0-2 with 9 Saves. His ERA of 5.23 does not show how well he pitched but the 1 HR he gave up, his 11 Ks to 3 BBs, his .068 WHIP, and his .121 OAVG easily show why Charlotte feels confident with him finishing out games.

AAA Player of the Month: 2B Kel Bacon is the Cougar's AAA Player of the Month for June. In 101 At Bats, Bacon hit .337/.398/.485. Bacon scored 18 Runs, had 8 RBI, 12 doubles, 1 HR, and 8 SBs, easliy outpacing the rest of the AAA Richmond Panthers.
