C-Notes 2042.1 - What the Hell Happened

Maybe it didnt seem it, but 2041 was an improvement for the 2nd-year of the Charlotte Cougars franchise. Yes, the 13 wins is a quick and easy way to see that improvement, but they got better in other ways as well.

For one, the Team Batting Average increased by 15 points. Considering the players, a few over-performing, some...performing, and a bunch under-performing, they still managed to pull it together. Unfortunately, Team ERA also increased, by only 0.13 but it was still an increase.

The biggest area where the Cougars were happy to see increase was in revenue. Payroll decreased by just over $14.5 million while attendance increase by just over 380,000 people. Even with average ticket prices dropping by $0.33 from 2040 to 2041, the overall interest in the club remains high, allowing the Front Office to increase their coffers.

When asked for his review of the season, GM Golden stated, "Respectable. The boys played hard all season long. Its still a young team. We've got a lot of room in our budget and we intend to use it. Stay tuned."
