For those of you that have been paying attention, the Charlotte Cougars are quietly and quickly filling out their minor league rosters following the recent expansion draft. Before we meet the new players, let's meet the new teams.
Owner John "Ghost" Weber has released a statement noting that Richmond, VA will be the location of the Charlotte Cougars AAA team. Weber is quoted as saying, "Richmond is an amazing city. Its an easy drive to and from Charlotte and the flights are short enough to get folks here soon after we need them."
Weber went on to say that the team will be known as the Panthers. "These are not just your same old boring Panthers uniforms either. These are Panthers that the old timers, like me, will be able to get behind and have some fun with, and they will also appeal to the younger and female crowds as well. Their colors will be pink and blue and the mascot, well, take a look for yourself. Ladies and gentlemen, your Richmond Panthers!"
