C-Notes 2039.3 - Construction Underway

In today's press release from the soon-to-be Charlotte Cougars, construction is underway on the new stadium. As a nod to the location and for the man that gave a lot to Charlotte, Family Dollar Field is being constructed on the former site of the old distribution center in Matthews, just outside of Charlotte. Family Dollar's founder, and local philanthropist, Leon Lavine, the pressbox will be named in his honor.

The statement revealed some details of the stadium as well. You better bring some outfielders with you as there is a lot of green at Family Dollar Field. Family Dollar Field, an open stadium with a grass field will hold 40,000 people. Its dimensions will be:
LL: 350' with a 6 ft tall wall
LF: 385' with an 8 ft tall wall
LC: 450' with an 8 ft tall wall
CF: 440' with an 8 ft tall wall
RC: 435' with an 8 ft tall wall
RF: 390' with an 8 ft tall wall
RL: 350' with a 6 ft tall wall

I'll buy a ticket for that.

Love the field dimensions. I might need to acquire a few more gap hitters though. With heavy divisional play next year and no interleague, I'm gonna dust off the 'ole 162 game ballpark factor spreadsheet.
