Metro Stars Shedding Salary

Post by FuzzyRawley » Sun Mar 15, 2020 10:02 am

GM Geoff Webb stepped out of one of the few remaining Padmini Taxis still running the streets of Mumbai and into the muggy air which was extra stifling due to the throng of sweaty reporters that crowded him. The choice of transportation was no mistake, but a reflection of the state of the Metro Stars finances heading into the 2042 season. The Padmini, based on the 1964 Fiat 1100, is a metaphor for the 2042 Metro Stars, old, unreliable and expensive to maintain.

The questions came fast and furious. "What is the team going to do about its horrific defensive metrics?" "How does the owner, the Israeli Donald Litte, feel about the league-worst attendance?" Why the f*ck are they paying RP Reese Rayner $3.9 million a year?"

Understandably flustered, GM Webb tried to deflect questions by commenting on the heat and humidity and making jokes about cows getting better treatment than him. But before he could retreat through the doors of the organizations offices he offered up this. "If any team wants to take on a couple of contracts, I can guarantee our asking price will be extremely low."

Specifically, we'd be looking at offers for:

RP Reese Rayner
RF Robert Gowron
CF Michael Macrain

However, given the state of the Metro Stars, any offer for any player would be given consideration.
 They say it don't be like it is, but it do!
