Reading various posts and talking to people I know theres a possible expansion on the horizon, anyway one thing I've always enjoyed is coming up with team nicknames so heres a few I came up with.

Palestine
Ramallah Haddads
Founding fathers were blacksmiths, Haddad means blacksmith.

Kuwait
Kuwait City Alsayadin
Kuwait City was originally a fishing village, alsayadin means fishermen.

Qatar
Doha Alqarasina
The first mention by an English speaker of a settlement where Doha stands was a village of Pirates.

United Arab Emirates
Dubai Altujjar
Know for its rich history of trading, altujjar means merchants but also used for traders.

Oman
Muscat Nabahinah
A tribe through trade with India helped Muscat prosper.

Yemen
Sana'a Almanajim
Rich history of mining hence almanajim which means miners, well technically it should be eummal almanajim which means mine workers.

Pakistan
Karachi Tamsahs
Tamsah is Arabic for crocodile, Karachi is said to be named after a family called Korochi who one of their sons killed a man eating crocodile.

I like the Haddads because it reminds me of a great set of neighbors. :)

With what I can gather it's kind of like an English version of say using Carpenter as a last name, were you used your occupation as your last name.

Very interesting teams names and locations. I had done an expansion post like Nigel, and you and he both have interesting ideas.
