I'll post my pick here in a little bit. Number one pick is not really clear. Having internal debate with myself.

Istanbul will be selecting Blake Bell #1 Overall.

This was a struggle. I usually love players with a profile like Doubleday, or even Rubber Ducky for that matter. But they both suck at defense. I'd end up playing them at 1B/DH and the UMEBA is littered with capable 1B/DH. I strongly considered Dutton and Koka because I like to draft up the middle. I just felt that offensively they weren't quite good enough to justify picking over the solid all around Bell.

What I really wanted was a pitcher. The UMEBA is lacking young quality pitching. The top 6 pitchers in the draft will all fare well. But again, I couldn't justify picking any of them over what should be an MVP caliber everyday UMEBA bat.

Though I'm not really confident in my pick at all. There was easily 5-6 players I was going back and forth on. Oh well, let's see what happens.

And, by the way, draft prep kidding aside, Bell is an extremely solid pick. I had him in my mix at No. 2 - I'm going back and forth between three guys right now and, yes, Doubleday is one of them. Or maybe I'll take his uncle, since he seems to be a pitcher with some experience ...

Well I plan to try to sign all 5 of my picks that require signing. That’s a good sign for how much better the draft pool got.

Definitely. I'm trying for three of the five - one of them (an "impossible" signing) says he wants to go to college and is asking for an absurd bonus, so I'm going to pass on him - third round closer with very mediocre UMEBA relative ratings. My first two guys could be potential studs, though.
