São Paulo Pilots Vol 1. "Já Era"

Post by watr19 » Sun May 12, 2024 11:12 pm

Far from the lush abundance of the Amazônia, the world's favorite pastime has found itself the center of attention once again in the hustling bustling city of São Paulo, Brasil.

The Pilots have brought back multiple strong players back from last season, such as; young phenom hitter Katsunan Hashimoto (reigning PosPOTY), Veteran SP Owen Geddes (2nd in PitPOTY, still going strong at 38), and shutdown closer Ivan Ruiz (reigning RelOTY). To afford all of these great players, unfortunately sacrifices had to be made to keep under the almighty Salary Cap.

Masamichi Kubo wound up getting a phone call at 11 PM from newly positioned General Manager Jayce Taskey.
"You've been traded to the London Monarchs, we'll provide you with any and all contact info needed to make this transition as smooth as possible for you through your email and cellular device if needed. The Pilots appreciate everything you've done for our club and wish you the best moving forward."

Kubo is no stranger to the cutthroat business of baseball. Years and years of moving to different states, countries, and continents within single seasons has hardened his mentality to keep on trying to be his best. Here is an excerpt caught from Kubo as he was walking through the airport the morning after the phone call:

"I was hoping I could run it back with [the Pilots] and try for a better season but if they want to move on, I'll move on too. I'm just ready to play for [the London Monarchs]".

Masamichi Kubo had finished the 2058 season with a .800 OPS and a 4.5 WAR.
