2046:03 A Stake to me Heart: Your 2046 Bucharest Pitching Rotation!

Post by allenciox » Wed Feb 24, 2021 5:10 pm

Just like last year, we have best rotation in all of UMEBA (maybe one of best anywhere, even BBA?) At any rate, here we go:

S1: 20-yo Owen Geddes , last year win PItcher of Year, lead league in ERA (2.51), K (176), WHIP (1.02), K/9 (8.2) and WAR (6.2) and had "only"15-5 record, return for third season. He still developing --- where go from here?
S2: 19-yo Neill Fenomore come in second place in pitcher of year voting. He go 14-8 (3.19 ERA, 4.9 WAR) last year, and lead league in BB/9 (only 1.8 per 9 innings).
S3: Ragnar Lothbrok one of best Impaler free agent pick ups ever year before last, at only 1.4 million per year. Last year, finish 3rd in pitcher of year voting, going 18-7 (most wins in league), with 3.66 ERA and 4.7 WAR.
S4: 19-yo Ajanidha Praveen not typical fourth starter. Fourth-best pitcher on team is also probably fourth-best in BANC, as he was all-star, pitcher of the month in May, June, and September, with a 16-6 record, 2.93 ERA, 4.7 WAR, and lead league in HR/9 with 0.6.
S5: Freddy Delgado is no slouch: He was sign middle of last season for $1.8 million/year for two years. What he do rest of season? In 13 starts, he go 6-2, with 2.88 ERA, 1.8 WAR and only 1.2 BB/9. He back this year for entire season. At 38 year old, we keep watch on him... his contract up after season, so if he stays at top form, might be back next season too.

In UMEBA preseason projections, all five of these pitchers expect to be among best ten starters in league. But we have great bullpen too, from top to bottom, but I especially mention two:

Setup specialist Tony Medine is another late season pick-up (BBA cast-off) from last year. He really good pitcher, with top-notch fastball and slider, and has very good movement and great control. He have 2.61 ERA last year but no pick up until late in year. Is secret, but I just offer him 1.2 million a year to stay here for three more years (last one is team option). No tell anybody, ok? We see what he say.

Fireballer closer Brendan Pollock do pretty good last year in just his second season in majors. He have rocky start to season and no make all-star team (unlike our four starters above). However, he make up for it in rest of season, as lead league in saves (46), with 2.79 ERA in 84 innings in 71 games (also lead league), with 2.5 WAR. He regularly hit 100+ on radar gun with his dominating fastball and slider.

If it true what say about pitching winning leagues, Bucharest is prime for another great season.
