A Stake to me Heart: Report from your GM after game 19

Post by allenciox » Thu Jul 04, 2019 8:10 pm

Boy, who know we get 14-5 record at this point in season? Certainly not me. I so excited about this team, I jump from one leg to another and then back to the first one again. Unfortunately, it no look like this winning streak continue... not with injury bug hitting our best players. Hector Valentin who leads the league with 47 hits in 90 AB (.411 BA!) got hit on pinky finger with a beanball from nasty pitcher and now he out for four weeks. Then our star left fielder, Mike McCain, who hitting .343, was injured while throwing ball. Who get hurt just throwing ball?

So I no so good GM so far... I make huge mistake last week. The sly dog in Jerusalem put relief pitcher on waivers, Francis Wiles ... pretty good pitcher, I think. Not great pitcher, though. But I claim him. Silly me! He turn out to have 3.2 million dollar contract. This mediocre pitcher now highest paid player on team. Suddenly all hopes for picking up more Free Agents is gone... I learn from mistake though... no make same big mistake again. Anyway, I hope you forgive me and let me be coach again next year.

Well, at least you’re only on the hook for this season with his contract.

I’ve made a couple mistakes that impacted the teams for 3-4 seasons... lol
