Samson's Court - Jerusalem Hall of Fame

Post by Jess64 » Sat May 06, 2023 11:28 am

The Hebrew Hammers Announce the Opening of Samson's Court - The Hammers Hall of Fame (Jerusalem, Israel) The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers are a storied organization The organization was established in 2036 and joined the baseball world with the start of the 2037 season. There has been a puzzling ongoing construction project beside the Hammers stadium, the Holy Land, that today was revealed to the public.

The Hebrew Hammers had no place to honor their heroes, the players who helped to build the organization into what we know today. To rectify this omission, the Hebrew Hammers are honored to announce the establishment of Samson’s Court, the Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers Hall of Fame.

The Court will honor the players who exemplify the power, dedication and high standards that are a core part of the Hebrew Hammers organization. There will be 2 wings in Samson’s Court, one to honor the players and another to display the jersey numbers that have been retired by the organization. The retired jerseys will also be placed on permanent display in the Holy Land.

We understand the Hebrew Hammers, who are a part of the Global Baseball Consortium (GBC) are a place for a player to enter the BBA system and prove themselves to be skilled enough to move to the next level; a place to revive a lagging career; or a place for veterans to continue their careers playing the game they love, baseball.
With those considerations in mind the following guidelines are going to be established:
a. For a rookie, the player must spend 4 years in the Hebrew Hammers organization, this includes minor league time
b. For players attempting to revive their careers, they must spend a minimum of 2 seasons on the Hebrew Hammers roster.
c. For veterans who are ending their careers, they must also spend a minimum of 2 years on the Hebrew Hammers roster

Players who meet these minimum qualifications will have their contributions to the Hebrew Hammers evaluated to see if they meet the standards to be inducted into Samson’s Court.
Before revealing the inaugural Hall of Fame class, please indulge the organization as we recount our history up to the establishment of Samson’s Court.

The team was established in 2036 and joined the Global Baseball Consortium in 2037. They went on to make the playoffs multiple seasons and even winning the GBC Championship 3 times.

With this rich history, it is time to reveal the first, of many, to be inducted into Samson’s Court:

SABL LF Platinum Stick: 2046
SABL MVP: 2046
SABL RF Platinum Stick: 2047
UMEBA Round of Four MVP: 2050
The other wing of Samson’s Court will house the numbers that have been retired by the organization. Numbers will be retired to honor members of the organization that have gone over and above any expected honors and recognitions that a player could earn.

The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers are honored to announce the retirement of the following numbers to dedicate this wing of the facility.

2: This number was worn by Hammers legend Adam Backhouse. Adam made a massive impact on not only the Hammers, but on the United Middle East Baseball Association. He garnered 6 All-Star Team selections, 2 Player of the Year awards and a Round of Four MVP Award.

22: This number is not being retired to honor a player, but to recognize the struggles of veterans of the United States military. Sadly, veteran suicide is an on-going issue that needs to be addressed. One of the ways to raise awareness is to draw attention to the fact that an average of 22 veterans commit suicide a day in the United States. To honor these brave men and women who could not win their inner battles the number 22 will not be worn by a member of the organization. It will hang in a place of honor to remind all that 22 a day is 22 too many.

The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers are honored to recognize the contributions of these players and look forward to more being added to this beautiful structure.
