It's tough to complain about a 3-3 Sim to close out April when the Hammers started the season with 1 win in 13 games. It's also notable that 2 of the Hammers' 3 wins came at league leading Beirut, whom the Hammers trail by 6.5 games, where they won a 3-game set. No doubt Jerusalem must perform more consistently. But it's encouraging when tweaks and small moves produce sizable results. It's an indication that the team is not far from being good to great.
Pitcher of the Sim:
CL Jan Chmelyk
8G, 1-0, 3 SV, 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP, +0.5 WAR
Chmelyk is already earning his accolades with every appearance he makes. He's essentially thru April without allowing a run. In this Sim he picked up a win in the important series in Beirut. He actually went 2 innings earning the win while striking out the side in a game that ultimately went to 12 innings. He also helped put away games in Riyadh and the 2nd game of the Beirut contest. All-in-all, in a 6-game Sim Chemlyk pitched 3.2 high leverage innings allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, fanning 4.
