(Better late than not at all, right? Right?)
The Jerusalem Hammers have a lot of positive results to point to in looking back to 2047. Most obvious is coming out of a bruising scrum where none of the teams could really get traction. The Hammers had to also win the tiebreaker game to get to semis. Glancing at the roster there's really no mystery of whom to consider as the 2047 Batter of the Year. 1B Adam Backhouse and C Baden Dutton would make huge contributions at the plate with a dark-horse maybe emerging. That dark horse was rookie LF Dane Licht. Backhouse and Licht missed time during the year either for injury (Backhouse) or experience. And when you normalize the data Dutton just falls off the line.
Now Licht, who just exhausted his rookie status in September so he was not available for votes, was named Rookie of the Month award twice, adding a Player of the Week to his resume. But Backhouse puts his accolades in perspective with being named BURT Player of the Week 9 times and twice bagging the Batter of the Month title. So we've got to go with the vet...and look forward to more from the rookie:
