THE Hammer
16 June 2048
Jerusalem, Israel
**********************************

Beirut Cedars 43-25 - L10 8-2
Baghdad Kings 9 GB - L10 7-3
Manama Pearls 11.5 GB - L10 2-8
Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers 14.5 GB - L10 4-6
Riyadh Red Crescents 17 GB - L10 2-8

HAMMERS OF THE SIM - SIM #11

Another "slightly less than horrible" Sim as the Hammers went 2-4. On the 9th, Jerusalem was wrapping up a road series at Baghdad that saw SP Mokichi Yamamoto bashed for 7 ER in 3 innings. He would return to the mound on the 15th back in the comforts of home vs. Riyadh, but he stumbled again giving up 4 ER on 6 hits in 5 innings while also walking 6. Needless to say the front office Yamamoto is back in AAA trying to find a spark or something. Meanwhile, Beirut is lapping the pack as they did last year. That leaves a Wild Card spot to fight for but that's not great either as they sit 5.5 GB of Baghdad on that count.

23yo CL Jan Chmelyk (25 G, 12 SV, 1.75 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, +1.0 WAR)

We'll go back to Chmelyk for this Sim as he was handed 2 SVO which he put to bed. He was also called upon in a 3rd game where there was no SVO, but he finished the Sim. The team is not giving him many chances to rack up saves, but they can be assured he'll perform up to specs every time.

LF José Figueroa (.295/.336/.459, 5 HR, 27 RBI, +0.8 WAR)

Figueroa was clutch this sim with 6 RBI in 6 games. He doesn't get the spotlight like Backhouse or Dutton, but when he gets focused he can go on a tear. Let's home he stays focused.

Sim #11: CL Jan Chemlyk, LF José Figueroa
