THE Hammer
16 May 2048
Jerusalem, Israel
**********************************

Beirut Cedars 30-9 - L10 6-4
Manama Pearls 27-23 3.5 L10 6-4
Riyadh Red Crescents 22-29 9 L10 4-6
Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers 21-29 9.5 L10 3-7
Baghdad Kings 19-29 10.5 L10 4-6

HAMMERS OF THE SIM - SIM #8

Well, that came out of nowhere. A 1-6 Sim has the Hammers watching foes drift away and scrambling to get the ship off the rocks. So best players of a 1-6 Sim can be, um, mediocre.

Pitcher
Image
33yo SP Manuel Andrés
13 G 1 GS 1 SV 2.96 ERA 0.95 WHIP +0.4 WAR

Slim pickings this Sim. Did Andrés finally get a starting nod. Oh yes he did. The game engine was so excited about his start that it used him in relief the very next day *sigh*. All in all, Manuel pitched 8.2 innings (yes, the engine had him pitch 5.2 innings in the team's only win and 3 innings the next evening. In his start, Andrés went 5.2 innings allowing only 1 run on 3 hits. He also K'd 5 and only 1 BB. The next day, he tacked another 1.2 innings of no-hit ball with 2 K's.

Batter

26yo 1B Adam Backhouse
.279/.294/.525 15 HR 4.3 RBI

Have you heard of Adam Backhouse? He's really good at baseball. Despite the disaster unfolding around him, Backhouse had a very good Sim providing a .433 wOBA, slashed .381/.391/.667 with 2 HR and 3 RBI. Hey, can't drive in runs that aren't there...

Sim #7: SP Edwin Harney, 1B Adam Backhouse

Sim #5: SP Edwin Harney, 1B Adam Backhouse
