SHARKS SLIDE DOWN AFTER SEVEN GAME SKID September 2nd, 2054
It was a very forgettable two weeks since our last article, as the Sharks have fallen further out of a play-off spot thanks to the team's seven game losing streak, including being swept by the San Paulo Pilots. During the slide, the leagues most explosive offense up to that point scored three runs or less in the losing streak.

"It's very concerning," says rookie GM Aaron Wharram, "We know we are better than this yet we were playing like we've picked up a bat for the first time."

The Sharks avoided back to back sweeps by defeating the Athens Fighting Centaurs 10-8 in extras (even though they blew another ninth inning lead), but the losing streak has taken it's toll, as they now sit four games back from both the London Monarchs and the Tokyo Pearls. However Wharram feels like this is a chance to start another run, as the team takes on London in the next three games.

"We know what's at stake, the past is in the past, the focus now is on beating London."

The Sharks are currently 74-62, third in the GBC. They are four games back of the playoff spot.

SHARKS ROOKIE WINS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
Though a disappointing week there was some good news on the front for the Sharks, as LF Milojica 'Bugaloo' Kraljevic won the GBC Rookie of the Month Award. Kraljevic, 22, has amassed a modest .325 Avg, 9 HR and 24 RBIS in just 23 games played.

"Honestly I'm just happy I've been able to help the team win," said Kraljevic. "though lately we have been struggling, I'd much rather erase our losing streak than hold this award."

Despite only being 22, many teammates have described him as being a naturally born leader, who adapted quickly to the GBC lifestyle. This does lay questions for the next season however, as some wonder if the team will re-sign fellow Left Fielder Jim Ashford, who's contract expires at the end of the year.
QUIET DEADLINE DAY
The trade deadline has come and gone and while some fans expected the team to make moves, the Sharks stayed rather quiet and intend to finish the season with the roster they currently have. While a potential trade for Buenos Aires Brisas P Dani Martínez never came to fruition, it was the only thing of note to come through for the Sharks. What do you think? Do the Sharks have what they need to complete the push for the playoffs? Let us know on Social Media!
