2054-1 New Manager takes the reins

ROOKIE MANAGER TAKES CONTROL OF SYDNEY SHARKS August 12th, 2054
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Those were the words of Aaron Wharram, who today was announced as the new General Manager of the Sydney Sharks. He had been asked on if he planned to make any immediate changes to the team he inherited.

"This team is in great shape as is and I feel very privileged to be welcomed to a team that is flush with talent, both current and future."

This will be Wharram's first GM job in his young career, and some fans have already called into question if hiring a young, inexperienced manager is the right call for a team looking for its fifth title in franchise history.

"This franchise has a lot of deep history, winning the championship three years in a row in Mumbai. However, I want to be the first to win it for the passionate fans here in Sydney."

Another concern is a lot of the team's starting line-up are all under expiring contracts, including star Jim Ashford.

"I'll definitely be looking to sign some extensions if they can work out, however i want to focus on the here and now with this team we have."

The Sharks are currently 3rd place in the GBC standings with a 66-52 record. They sit just two games back of a playoff spot.
